Ganpati Bappa is Back on 17th of September This Year

{Happy} Ganesh Chaturthi (गणेश चतुर्थी) is coming in the next week after one year, i.e. on Thursday, 17th September 2015.

As per Hindu calendar, Ganesh Chaturthi (गणेश चतुर्थी) is celebrated on fourth day of Shukla Paksha (Chaturthi) of Bhaadrapad month.

Lord Ganesha is born on Ganesh Chaturthi (गणेश चतुर्थी) and thats why we, Indians, celebrates this Ganesh Chaturthi every year. Lord Ganesha is son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. It is believed that on this auspicious day Lord Ganesha gives his presence on earth for all his devotees. This festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi in Sanskrit, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and Chavath in Konkani. The celebrations are grand and may last for five, seven or ten days.

Ganesh Chaturthi (गणेश चतुर्थी) is usually celebrated either in first half or the second half of September. Ganesh Chaturthi (गणेश चतुर्थी) in 2015 will be observed on Thursday, 17th September. Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated all over India, it will be celebrated more traditional and grand way especially in the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and many other parts of India. The tradition of celebrating Ganesh Utsav was started by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, the great Maratha ruler and he started to promote culture and nationalism. It was later revived and was made popular by Lokmanya Tilak (freedom fighter). The festival gave a feeling of unity in diversity and revived patriotic spirit and faith to all the Indians of that time.

Lord Ganesha is the God of success and the destroyer of any obstacles. Lord Ganesha is also worshipped as the god of knowledge, education, wealth, and wisdom. In fact, Lord Ganesha is one of the five prime Hindu deities (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and Durga being the other four) whose idolatry is glorified as the panchayatana puja."Ganesh Chaturthi" is the Hindu religion festival which will be celebrated in the honour of the lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the god of all our beginnings and bringing wisdom.
